Board a flight from Cape Town to Hoedspruit, with an approximate duration of two hours and 20 minutes.

Upon arrival in Hoedspruit, you’ll be transferred privately to Garonga Safari Camp near Kruger National Park, a journey of about one hour and 30 minutes.

After settling into your accommodation and gearing up for adventure, join fellow guests for your first authentic game drive. Sunrise and sunset are prime times for wildlife activity, and the Greater Kruger Area is one of Africa’s largest private game reserves. It’s home to an astounding array of wildlife, including the Big Five: African elephant, lion, leopard, Cape buffalo, and rhinoceros.

Spanning the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga, the Greater Kruger Area encompasses vast landscapes where animals roam freely. Guided by an experienced ranger and tracker, you will explore these breathtaking frontiers through the afternoon and into the sunset, capturing memorable moments with your camera. After the game drive, return to your lodge to enjoy a freshly prepared dinner, an experience that promises to be unforgettable.

Hakuna Matata

As dawn approaches, embark on an early morning game drive to witness the wildlife that thrives in the early hours. This is one of the prime times to observe game, made even more enchanting by the sunrise over the pristine African bush, aptly known as the Land of the Rising Sun. Look out for resident predators relishing the spoils of their nocturnal hunts and a diverse array of smaller mammals and bird species. After several hours of exploration, photography, and learning, return to the lodge for a delectable, freshly prepared breakfast.

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely boat trip on a nearby dam, complete with a scenic picnic. This serene excursion offers a different perspective of the bushveld, allowing you to relax and soak in the natural beauty while spotting wildlife from the water.

Before the intense African sun rises high in the sky, seize the opportunity to discover more of the magnificent wildlife. Early in the morning, set out to explore the Greater Kruger Area, home to majestic herds of elephants that gracefully roam the savannah. Will today be the day you encounter them up close? After a few hours of thrilling game viewing, return to the lodge for a hearty and satisfying breakfast.

Pezulu Tree House Lodge offers a unique sleep-out experience, where you can spend the night under the stars in the heart of the bush. After your safari, head into the wilderness to a beautiful raised deck with stunning views over the veldt. Enjoy a delicious picnic hamper with your choice of hot or cold drinks while watching the sun set over the landscape. Fall asleep as the stars illuminate the sky, protected by durable, transparent netting that surrounds your queen-size bed. If you need anything during the night, simply radio the staff with your requests. As dawn breaks, freshen up at a nearby wash basin and toilet. You'll be picked up in the morning and treated to a brief game drive on your way back to the main camp. Sleeping in the African savanna is a truly magical and unforgettable experience.
