I have had 2 wonder facials from Dorota and would like to say thank you to her for such a wonderful experience, fom me and my skin!! I encourage everyone to see her, stat!!! If you splurge and get the deluxe facial it even comes with a mini massage – it really doesn’t get better than this. the spa is tranquil and relaxing and they always have fresh fruit and water available if you need a snack. The staff is friendly and attentive. I am a fan!!!!

I called the morning I needed a massage, I was greeted on the phone by a very nice and friendly voice. She booked an early appointment for me and I went in to a calm and warm atmosphere. Eugene was my massage therapist. I was in terrible pain when I laid on the table, and by the end of the massage I was able to move comfortably. I would definitely go back again.

Thank you again to Eugene and Gosia for our massages on Saturday. My friend Alan has some neck and shoulder stiffness all of the time and he was amazed a how good he felt afterwards. He has not had many professional massages. It was my third time to Eugene and he was great a usual! I also want to thank you for being very accommodating with appointment times in general and for calling me and letting me know that they were running 15 minutes behind. Got a facial here, and it was great. The facialist was quite thorough in her extractions, which is my first priority. Only thing I would have liked is if she did more massage, but maybe I’m just used to that of my usual facialist. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing, and the owner seems really cool, too. I’m going back for sure.

After searching from Ferndale to Birmingham for a good place for a couples massage, I finally settled on Spa Mariana after purchasing a Groupon. All of the other places I checked out either didn’t offer couples massage because their space couldn’t accomodate 2 massage tables, didn’t recommend the couples massage because it wasn’t as personalized, or their prices were above and beyond my budget. My boyfriend and I went as a treat last weekend and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The spa is tranquil and serene and I liked the modern touches. Most of all, the staff and environment are inviting, and there’s not an ounce of pretentiousness in this Birmingham spa. Magda and Eugene were our massage therapists and they both did a fantastic job with our aromatherapy massage. Even though it was a couples massage they each focused on our problem areas and gave extra attention where it was needed. Champagne, strawberries and chocolate were provided afterward while we relaxed. It was a nice touch but it would have been nice to have something a little better than Cook’s (debated putting that in at the risk of sounding snobby myself!). Of course this is a spa, not a wine bar, and it was the only negative we would say about our wonderful experience there. My boyfriend, who had never had a massage before, is hooked. While I’ve only had a few massages before and don’t typically do “spa days” I would definitely visit Spa Mariana again when I want to splurge. In fact, we were so relaxed when we checked out that we scheduled our next appointment. Highly recommend this place!

I had a deep tissue massage by Eugene a couple of weeks ago. It was the best massage I have ever had…and I have had many. My lower back pain which I have had for years is nearly gone. However, I cannot afford to pay $110 on a regular basis to keep coming back. When I checked out, I was told he sometimes runs specials. PLEASE keep me in mind! Thanks again Eugene!!! Outstanding service, exceptional quality, and always a smiling face when you walk in the door. I had been going to the same person for massage for over 20 years and was rather skeptical when told that Maciek was really good. A year later and a new massage home, I can say that really good was an understatement – he’s excellent, and the spa is great. As a musician that has been plagued by years of too much tension in my body, Maciek’s work allows me to play freely and get a fresh start every time I walk out. My sound, breathing, resonance, and ability to play the way that I should be able to play come back. It is invaluable to my well being as a musician and a human being. Thai massage opened up a whole new world of intensity and exploration as well. I highly recommend visiting Spa Mariana – I think you’ll be hooked.

As soon as you walk in…Ohm. The smell of lavender embraces you and though it is extremely clean in there (a good thing) it’s not overly hospital sanitary where you can’t relax. You’re offered a beverage and should you choose the orange water, it’s delightful. The massage, I wish it went on forever, however we did a couple massage and when it was over I still had champagne, chocolates and strawberries to look forward too. Susie, who was the receptionist has WONDERFUL customer service and frankly, very sweet and I looked forward to meeting her after she was so kind on the phone.

Spa Mariana is the best! The positive energy is there from the moment you walk in the door. They do everything to make their guests comfortable and happy. Their massage is the best in the nation. As a frequent flyer, I receive massage at the best hotels and spas in the country. Spa Mariana is the top of my list. You will love it there.

I have to say that this spa is top notch! The location is very easy to find, just off of Woodward once you get into Birmingham. After reading the prior reviews I was skeptical to drive the 45 minute trek to give it a try but we did. >From the outside you would not think it was a first class spa. A rather bland building. There is ample customer parking right next to the front door. Once we entered we were quickly taken to a sitting room which was nicely decorated and comfortable and given some time to fill out spa questionnaires, At this point we met Maciek who came by introduced himself and offered us some orange water. Once we completed the questionnaires we were then moved to another room with a large couch, leather lounge chair and some nice art on the walls. The lights were dim and the sound was relatively quiet. Magdalena showed us to the changing area (on the smaller size but has lockers and spa amenities.) and we changed into our robes. We had booked signature facials and a couple massage. First up was the signature seaweed facials. We were led to the rooms, which were both dark and quiet. All I could hear was the soft “pure moods” music. My wife had Dorota who she said was fabulous. I can not remember my technicians name but she did a great job. This was my first facial and I was a bit apprehensive to the thought of somebody touching my face but in the end it was well worth it. Both facials lasted just about an hour at which point I thought we would have been whisked away to get our couples massage like most spas. However, the staff informed us that we would be taking a snack break so that there wouldn’t be too much down time without hydration or food for my wife(pregnant). The staff took us to the seating area and brought us out some fresh cut strawberries, chocolate and champagne for me (water for my wife). After about a 15 minute break we were led to the couples massage room which was once again nicely decorated with light colors and peaceful music. Once in the room we were given the option of therapist. My wife’s therapist was Magdalena and I had Maciek. Prior to starting both therapist asked us about certain areas they should focus on and other questions to assist us in having a better experience. The massages were excellent. I had a Swedish massage and my wife had a motherhood massage (prenatal massage). No complaints at all. After the massages we were brought fresh water and given time to relax in the room prior to going to sit in the room with the couches to finish up our relaxation. Upon checking out the therapist came out and discussed our massages which was very helpful. We’ve been to many spas in the area and have decided that we like this one the best so far. The prices are reasonable and the staff goes above and beyond to make it a memorable experience.

Maciek, owner of Spa Mariana, is the most talented, personable, intuitive, knowledgeable and educated masseuse I have ever come across. I am very picky and preferential when it comes to getting massaged and Maciek has never failed me. He knows exactly what I need and his approach is therapeutic, healing and also feels amazing. The customer service at his spa is flawless and the vibe is relaxing and clean the place you want to be anytime you need to get away from life and treat yourself. I hate to expose him for my own selfish reasons but he is too gifted for me not to share his expertise with others.

I am extremely active, and I am stubborn, fighting the physical and mental obstacles I face every day at work, home, and in the gym. Never have I questioned Maciek Lyko, or any of his fine staff at Spa Mariana, so when the idea of ‘cupping’ was suggested, I jumped ride on. See the pics attached of my shoulders, neck, chest, and back points covered. I have shoulder issues, derived from a past car accident, a concussion, with a severe whip lash. Being so active is great for anybody, but I have trouble going half-speed. It’s 110% or nothing, and that leads to breakdowns. Cross-fit, basketball, boxing, running, plyometric, circuit training, calisthenics, swimming, tennis, etc…, I put my mind, and body to the test. I follow a strict stretching regimen, taking only minutes to daily, this enforces my Spa Mariana therapy. My diet, and ‘discipline to pace myself’ has aided in keeping myself healthy. The cupping, it was really a turning point for me, drawing out the stresses, and tight points in all affected areas. I entrust my health, and well-being with Maciek, and his knowledgeable technicians, why don’t you?

Maciek and his team are the best around! Maciek is an incredibly intuitive healer whose touch is both deep and firm while also healing and therapeutic. Having experienced many massages from Maciek and elsewhere when traveling, I haven’t come across another therapist who even closely compares to his depth of knowledge and understanding about the body. He is hands down the best therapist I have been to. You get very spoiled by the quality of therapists at Spa Mariana and the lasting benefits of the various massage modalities used. Kyle and Magda are as equally talented and gifted in providing an amazing deep tissue massage experience. I have been getting different types of body work and massages. Today, I had an appointment with Maciek and I have never experienced the kind of customized massage. I am active and constantly moving from running a kickboxing studio to teaching a class and personal training. With years of martial arts training and not to mention I’m getting older, three weeks ago… my lower back just gave out and I could feel it up to the right side of my neck. It was very disturbing, I couldn’t focus on my job and I couldn’t work, I was so limited. I went to a Chiropractor, it didn’t really help. Today, after my session… I felt so good and my muscles aren’t as tight. I could move better in an instant. I highly recommend this place. Everyone are so professional and very pleasant.
